The “Mount Nelson Hotel” oozes class and sophistication and the new “Planet Restaurant” mirrors that image.  
LED strip lighting (Low Profile) were used for bulkhead up lighting, (MR16 midnitesun) down lights were used for accent lighting around the parameters, (Fibre Optics) create a starry sky in the conservatory and strategically placed Ribbon LED’s in  recessed areas of the wine racks.

Solid State Lighting Systems was hands on with the lighting design, including the exciting new development of control gear used in conjunction with the C-bus and Crestron automation systems for the dimming and controlling of the LED’s for mood lighting. A range of LED’s were used throughout the store from down lighters, cabinet LED’s and back lit light box LED’s,  including the use of electro-luminescent glow cable in conjunction with LED’s to create South Africa’s first electro-luminescent light box.

Precision planning for the execution of this project was critical from pre-assembly of products to preparation of LED’s for light boxes, as well as creating a mobile workshop which included all our materials and products to complete the installation once in Midrand. Our temporary workshop was established on the premises of Alclad to in able us to work in collaboration with the shop fitters responsible for the manufacture of IMAGINE’s display units. The installation of LED’s into the light boxes and display plinths were done on these premises which allowed for complete working assemblies before the units were delivered to site for final fix. 

Once the units were delivered to IMAGINE, the final fix commenced with the completion of all wiring of light boxes and display plinths to the controllers, drivers, C-bus and Crestron automation systems. The store was then completed with touch panels for the control of mood lighting in store.

The breathtaking displays are programmed to dim up and down when in their proximity as the motion sensors and video cameras track your every move. The LED’s create a visual wonderland of display with the added benefit of reducing electricity costs and being environmentally friendly.
